CV632 Halbardier

This is a well recieved new design that has emerged from the Ermann Group's Design Bureau, and it has provd very well liked by troops and crews alike. According to them, their only flaw is that there is nowhere near enough of them. It is basically a turretless Hoplite fitted with a long-range tank killing Tri-Barrel 40mm Gauss Cannon in a remote turret. It fires HDAPDS against armoured targets to good effect, and the coaxial 30mm tribarrel rotary cannon firing APHE makes lighter vehicles easy pickings. The combination of very good electronic emission shielding, low profile, good armor and a great chassis makes this an expected bestseller.

Since it produces so much surplus power, all produced examples have been fitted with loading stations in the rear, enabling infantry to reload their main weapon- and side arms magazine power sources without waiting for the squad carrier loaders to become available. There is space allocated on the inside, as well as armoured bins on the outside carrying over 20000 rounds of 6mm gauss rifle projectiles. Since they are shared between all infantry standard weapons of the Dragoons as well as by the EM machinguns of most of the units vehicles, this has also proved handy.

All FSV crews, Fusilier and Halbardier crews alike, take care to carry as much 6mm ammo, rations, medi-kits, water, and main vehicle weapon ammunition as possible, and with the weight saved by the removal of the Hoplite's turret, that means quite alot can be carried.  Only eight is in service with the Dragoons as of yet though, but they have put down orders to aquire more as they become avaliable. The Halbardier is to replace the Fusilier in Dragoon service as soon as possible.
